I never would have guessed 178 square feet! You've got to read more about the owner here. He got his current interior design job by showing pictures of his place. He's an inspiration to any aspiring designer. Or really anyone trying to make piles look damn good!!

When I first saw this in the NYTimes, I was blown away too by the fact that this is all in a 178 sq ft apt. Seriously, that takes talent to do that so artfully.
it inspires me. we live currently in a small space and it can be difficult to keep everything organized and still look fabulous! thanks for the pictures. I feel inspired now!
This is insane. My 700 is less organized than his 178. What a great example of working with what you've got!
This really gives me hope for when I move to NYC in may...I am sure I will have to design for a small space!

yeah! I saw this in the New York Times a couple weeks back and couldn't stop looking at it! That's CRAZY! I'd go nuts in 178 square feet!

Holy Crap!!! 178 sq ft? Bravo to that dweller for 1) living in such a tiny apartment and not going stir crazy and 2) for decorating it so well. That really is an inspiration for my 800 sq ft.

Whoa, that's pretty magical. I can't even imagine living in a space that small but it's so chic that i could probably be happy. That's NYC for you..gotta love it.
